Don't have time to watch a 40-minute video just to find one recipe or the main point? Ask the @vfixbot Telegram bot. Reply to a video — or a YouTube, TikTok or Instagram link — with a question: “what is this video about?”, “give me the recipe”, “what ingredients do I need?”. The bot watches the clip, listens to the speech and answers in a few sentences.
How to get a video summary
- Open @vfixbot in Telegram and tap “Start”.
- Send the bot a video or a link: YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Twitter / X, VK, Reddit and more. A video forwarded from a chat works too.
- Reply to the video with your question. Or send the link and the question in one message: link + what is it about?
Want to dig deeper? Reply to the bot's answer: and how much sugar?, what was the second tip? — the bot remembers which video you're talking about.
What you can ask
- what is this video about?, summarize it in three points — a short summary;
- give me the recipe, what ingredients do I need? — from a cooking video;
- what exercises are in it?, list the steps — from a workout or a how-to;
- what game is this?, what's the character's name?, where was this filmed? — the bot looks at the picture, not just the words;
- what does he say at the end?, is the review positive? — about a specific moment or opinion.
A photo works too: send a picture and ask what's on it.
YouTube video summary — even long ones
For YouTube the bot doesn't need to download anything first: send the link and ask. Long lectures, podcasts and interviews are summarized from the subtitles, so even a multi-hour video gets an answer in seconds. Other platforms — TikTok, Instagram, VK and the rest — are summarized from the video itself, up to 60 minutes of speech.
In groups and in any chat
- Private chat with the bot — just reply to a video with a question.
- Group — add the bot to the group and reply to a video with @vfixbot what is it about?. Without the mention the bot stays quiet, so it doesn't interfere with your conversation.
- Any other chat — even where the bot isn't a member: reply to a message with a video or a link with @vfixbot your question, and the answer appears right there.
Free: caption, author, date
Some things don't need watching the video at all — and they're free:
- get the description — the post's caption text;
- whose account is this?, give me her Instagram — the author and a link to the profile;
- when was it posted?, how many likes? — date, views, likes, comments where the platform shows them;
- link to the original — where the video came from.
Limits and price
- Summaries and questions about a video are a Premium feature: a one-time 99 Telegram Stars, no subscription. Up to 3 questions a day.
- Caption, author, date and link to the original are free and don't count against this limit.
- Without subtitles, the bot answers about videos with up to 60 minutes of speech.
- Private accounts and deleted posts can't be fetched — the bot will say so.
Why not just a YouTube summarizer
Most AI summary tools work only with YouTube and only with subtitles. The bot also handles TikTok, Instagram Reels and other short videos where there are no subtitles at all, looks at the picture as well as the speech, and works where you already are — in Telegram, including group chats. No extensions, no sign-up.
More things the bot does
Besides answering, the bot edits videos on request: subtitles with translation, GIF from a video, round video messages, compression to a target size. All features are on the Telegram bot page.
