Telegram's round video messages — the “circles” — can normally only be recorded live with the front camera. To turn an existing video into one, use the @vfixbot bot: send it any video or a link, reply “make it a round video” — and it sends back a real Telegram video message that you can forward to any chat.
The same way, the bot turns a video into a voice message: only the sound, as if it had been recorded with the mic button.
How to make a round video from a video
- Open @vfixbot in Telegram and tap “Start”.
- Send the bot the video: forward it from a chat, upload it from your gallery, or paste a link to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter / X, VK or another platform.
- Reply to the video with make it a round video. The bot replies with a video message.
- Forward the circle wherever you want — to a friend, a group or a channel. It looks just like one recorded in Telegram.
You can also send the link and the request in one message: link + make it a round video.
What the bot does with the frame
- Square from the center. A video message is a circle cut from a square, so the bot takes a square from the middle of the frame. A vertical TikTok loses the top and bottom, a horizontal YouTube video loses the sides.
- Up to 60 seconds. Telegram doesn't accept longer video messages. If the video is longer, the bot takes the first 60 seconds and tells you so in a separate message.
- Sound is kept, the quality is the one Telegram recommends for circles (640×640).
Pick the piece and the framing
The first minute isn't always the best one. Say which part you need and what should be in the circle:
- round video from 1:00 to 1:40 — a specific piece;
- last 30 seconds as a round video — counted from the end;
- keep only where she sings and make it a round video — the bot finds those moments itself;
- zoom in on the dog and make it a round video — when the main thing isn't in the center, the bot follows it;
- speed up 2x, black and white, round video — speed and filters work too.
Video to voice message
Reply to a video with send it as a voice message — the bot extracts the sound and sends a Telegram voice message (OGG/Opus), the kind with a waveform and the play button. Works for long videos too: lectures, podcasts, songs. You can trim and change the speed in the same request: voice message from 2:00 to 5:00, 1.5x faster.
Need a regular audio file instead? audio only gives an mp3 — and that one is free.
In groups and other chats
In a group where the bot is a member, reply to a video with make it a round video @vfixbot — the circle appears in the group. In any other chat you can reply to a video with @vfixbot make it a round video: Telegram doesn't let bots post video messages there, so the bot sends the circle to your private chat with it, ready to forward (you need to have started the bot at least once).
Limits and price
- Round video and voice message are Premium features: a one-time 99 Telegram Stars, no subscription.
- Your first Premium request is free — try it before paying.
- A circle is at most 60 seconds — that's Telegram's own limit.
- If the video has no sound, a voice message can't be made — the bot says so.
- Free plan: 5 videos an hour, files up to 20 MB. Premium: 15 an hour, files up to 500 MB.
Why not an app
Apps that “convert video to Telegram circle” usually want access to your account or make you send the file through a third-party service. The bot needs nothing: no login, no access to your chats, no app to install. You send a video — you get a circle, in the same chat where you'll use it.
More things the bot does
Make a GIF from a video, add subtitles with translation, compress a video to a target size or ask the bot what a video is about. All features are on the Telegram bot page.
